FA Mathis leaves Baltimore without deal

Evan Mathis left his meetings with the Baltimore Ravens without signing a contract.

The Eagles are still in it.

"Ravens have offered a nice deal," Mathis told NFL Insider Adam Caplan. "I'm flying back to Arizona to think about it and discuss it with my family."

The Ravens, who lost free agent guard Ben Grubbs, could certainly use Mathis but the fact that he left Baltimore without a deal is good news for Eagles fans.

On Thursday, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said that the team would like to have Mathis back and that they are in constant communication with his representatives.

Mathis, 30, bounced from Carolina to Miami to Cincinnati and played on a one-year deal worth 685,000 last season with the Eagles. He started 15 games after Todd Herremans was moved to right tackle.
