Eagles-Cardinals: What the (cough) experts say

When a team has lost six of its last seven games at home as the Eagles have, there is no such thing as home-field advantage so we wont even factor in the Linc, the fans and all that stuff.

There is, however, a clear pattern that favors the Eagles. They dont beat good teamsthey are 0-5 against opponents that currently have a winning recordbut they do beat bad teams. Their three wins have come against teams with a combined record of 8-16.

This just in: the Cardinals are a bad team.

Hard to feel confident picking the Eagles to beat anybody right now. They're so shaky, so inconsistent, so unpredictable, you ask yourself, 'Who exactly can they beat?' The answer is the Arizona Cardinals, a team that's in even worse shape than the Eagles. The Cards have allowed 30 or more points in four of their last five games, and their only wins are over the Panthers and Rams. So a 3-5 vs. a 2-6. We'll go with the 3-5.

I can't imagine the Eagles losing this game, then again I couldn't imagine them losing on Monday to the Bears either. The Eagles really struggled to cover the Bears wide receivers and now they face an even bigger threat in Larry Fitzgerald.

But as long as the Eagles can contain Fitzgerald, they should be able to take care of the Cardinals.

What is the deal with this team?

So talented, yet soargh! They can beat anyone, and they can lose to anyone too.

Just not Arizona.

Theyll beat the Cardinals for three reasons:

One, Jake Plummer is no longer Arizonas QB.
Two, Martay Jenkins is no longer a Cardinals receiver.
And threeuhhmmI cant remember.

Oops. (in case you havent seen this yet.)

Well, theyll beat the Cardinals anyway to improve to 4-5 and set up a pivotal, must-win, lose-and-the-seasons-really-really-over prime-time game at the Meadowlands against the Giants.

I'm so tired of being wrong. I'm wrong every week. In fact, you can blame the loss to the Bears on me. Well, Eagles fans, the bad news is that I'm picking the Eagles to win this week. If history repeats itself, that means the Cardinals will win.

The good news? The Cardinals stink. Kevin Kolb is a no-go. Beanie Wells is banged up. Sure, the Cardinals have some nice players on both sides of the ball but collectively, they're just not that good.
