Eagles downgrade Maclin to questionable

Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has suffered an apparent setback in his bid to return to action after missing three games with a hamstring injury.

The Eagles on Saturday morning downgraded Maclin from probable to questionable for their game Sunday against the Dolphins in Miami.

Through nine games, Maclin had 46 catches, 612 yards and four touchdowns and was well on his way to a career year. But he suffered shoulder and hamstring injuries in the Nov. 13 loss to the Cards and hasnt played since.

Early this week, Maclin said he definitely planned to play against the Dolphins.

I feel good, he said Monday. I feel fine.

Maclin did not practice on Monday. He was limited on Wednesday and Thursday but was a full participant on Friday, and head coach Andy Reid at his presser following practice did not mention any setbacks.

But apparently, at some point between the end of practice Friday and Saturday morning, Maclins hamstring began giving him more problems.

The Eagles dont generally release an injury report one day before a game, since they dont practice. But the team issued an updated report late Saturday morning to update Maclins status.

A team spokesman said Maclin was accompanying the team to Miami early Saturday afternoon.

In Maclins absence, Riley Cooper had 13 catches for 240 yards and a touchdown against the Giants, Patriots and Seahawks, although he did have several drops, including one that led directly to an interception.

Maclin missed all of training camp while doctors attempted to determine why he was suffering symptoms that indicated a possible serious affliction. He was cleared by doctors in mid-August and returned to practice a week later.
