Eagles injury update: Vick still not practicing

Share

Eagles quarterback Michael Vick sat out practice again Thursday with broken ribs and appears unlikely to return to action against the Patriots Sunday.

The Eagles held an early Thanksgiving morning practice on the outdoor fields at the NovaCare Complex.

Vick was out at practice but once again didnt have a helmet and watched his teammates and talked to his coaches while Vince Young took all the first-team reps with the offense.

Young overcame a shaky first half to lead the Eagles to a 17-10 upset win over the Giants Sunday in East Rutherford, and theres a good chance hell make his second start for the Eagles Sunday at the Linc.

Vick hasnt practiced since suffering two broken ribs during the Eagles loss to the Cards at the Linc on Nov. 13. The Eagles are 3-1 the last two years when Vick is hurt. They went 2-1 under Kevin Kolb last year after Vick suffered rib cartilage damage during a game against the Redskins.

The Eagles, 4-6, face the 7-3 Patriots at the Linc at 4:15 p.m. In his only career start against the Patriots, Young went 15-for-36 for 227 yards, no TDs and two interceptions in the Titans 40-23 loss in Nashville on New Years Eve 2006.

Receiver Jeremy Maclin, recovering from shoulder and hamstring injuries, was also a non-participant at practice Thursday. Maclin was limited at practice on Wednesday and did not sound overall optimistic about playing on Sunday. He too is outside watching his teammates.

DeSean Jackson, who suffered a foot contusion against the Giants on Sunday, did return Thursday one day after not practicing at all on Wednesday.

Also sitting out were King Dunlap (concussion) and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (high ankle sprain), who are not expected to play on Sunday.
