Jenkins' big blow sets the tone for Eagles' D

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.You remember the hit.

Late in the second quarter of the Eagles 17-10 win Sunday night, Giants running back D.J. Ware made a few nice moves to dance through the defense.

And thenBOOM!

Ware was bulldozed by defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins. That play made for a raucous locker room at halftime.

Ill tell you what. It was a great halftime, defensive end Jason Babin said. Were in here, yelling, screaming, excitedemotions are high. The defense is going back out there. It brought a raw emotion into the locker room. We carried that out in the third and fourth quarter.

Jenkins didnt want to take all the credit.

We were fired up at half, Jenkins said. There were a lot more plays than that. I was just trying to make a play, get the guy down. There are a lot of plays that we made that had us fired up.

Hes lucky Ware wasnt a wide receiver going after a pass.

Its one of those thingshes moving so fast. Youre running. Theres no way you can time up a helmet-to-helmet hit, Jenkins said. I didnt see how it was, but it wasnt dirty.
