Justice's return creates options for Eagles' line

The Eagles havent gone a week or two since the start of training camp without shuffling their offensive line.

Will it happen again?

Andy Reid wouldnt rule it out.

With Winston Justices encouraging performance at right tackle Sunday in his 2011 debut, Reid has some options available to him now.

Justice, playing for the first time since off-season knee surgery, started and played well in the Eagles 20-13 win over the Redskins in Landover, Md.

Justice was playing because injuries to Jason Peters and King Dunlap forced the Eagles to move right tackle Todd Herremans from right tackle to left tackle. Herremans moved from left guard to right tackle just before opening day.

Reid said Monday that Peters, who missed the last two games with a hamstring injury, is likely to be back after the bye, when the Eagles face the Cowboys at the Linc in a crucial division game.

But has Justice earned himself another shot? Justice played well at right tackle in 2009 and for about the first half of 2010, before his knee deteriorated to the point where it affected his play.

Reid could move Herremans back to left guard, opening up a spot for Justice. Asked about it Monday, Reid said everything is under consideration.

Well just see, he said. Those are all things Ill look at here in the next few days. If we get Jason back and so on, well add a couple guys to the mix.

There a few reasons Reid might decide against it.

First of all, as well as Justice played, his knee is still not 100 percent. Reid said Justices knee was tender Monday, and it would undoubtedly be more difficult for Justice to play week after week while still recovering from surgery than one isolated game in an emergency.

Second of all, Herremans is simply too good at tackle to move back inside. Hes a natural tackle and has played at a Pro Bowl level since moving outside just before opening day.

And third, Evan Mathis has been outstanding at left guard, and hed be the odd man out if Justice returns to the lineup.

Since the start of training camp, the Eagles first offense has featured two left tackles (Herremans, Peters), two left guards (Herremans, Mathis), two centers (Jason Kelce, Jamaal Jackson), two right guards (Kyle DeVan, Danny Watkins) and four right tackles (Dunlap, Herremans, Ryan Harris, Justice).
