An emotional victory for Flyers' Talbot

Share

Max Talbot admitted it was a bit emotional going against his former Pittsburgh Penguin teammates.

Yeah. Obviously an exciting game for me, Talbot said after the Flyers' 3-2 victory. Everybody I think knew it. I felt good to get out there and definitely feels great to get the win.

Emotionally it was exciting. I took it as a challenge. It was two months before I had a chance to play the Penguins, so the guys battled and everybody knew.

A lot of guys in the dressing room, when there was goal, they were looking at me. It was great, it was a great feeling and everybody battled hard. It's behind me now.

Well, maybe not his feeling for goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, who robbed him in the game.

He did the little scream after he does every save, Talbot said. He goes 'woo' and I was always on the right side of that, but it pissed me off tonight.

Happiness
Jaromir Jagr missed an empty netter late in the game.

Bad energy? I felt it when I missed the net, Jagr said. At least everybody was happy.

Their fans were happy that I didnt score and Im happy we won the game. I just make everybody happy. You have to find a way to make everybody happy. Thats what I did.

Hearing
Coach Peter Laviolette was upset with Ville Leinos elbow to Matt Read in the Buffalo game that went unnoticed by the officials but not the league office.

NHL Czar of Discipline, Brendan Shanahan, held a hearing with Leino on Thursday and suspended him one game.

Flyer defenseman Marc-Andre Bourdon escaped any kind of punishment for his boarding check on Buffalos Nathan Gerbe, that saw him leave the game with a likely concussion.

Sabres coach Lindy Ruff was angry.

Im not surprised on his Leino's hearing, Ruff told reporters in Buffalo. I dont think theres any malicious intent on that or it was of any great degree. But Im not surprised because it was a blow to the head.

Gerbes hit, Im surprised theres no hearing. I really am. That one really surprises me because hes defenseless. He gets hit hard. Hes hurt. That one I cant figure out.
