Bryzgalov has ‘no idea' what ails him

DETROIT -- Ilya Bryzgalov says he has no idea what kind of virus he has, but it is lingering in his system.

Bryzgalov backed up Sergei Bobrovsky during Sundays 4-3 loss to the Red Wings at The Joe (see story).

Im still sick, Bryzgalov said. I have no idea what it was. Im not a doctor. I wasnt throwing up.

I cant breath normally. I have a sore throat. Headaches. As soon as I started taking the antibiotics, it started to feel better.

Two achievements
Two records were set during this game. First, the obvious one, Detroit won its 20th straight game at home, tying the 1975-76 Flyers.

We just tied it, Johan Franzen said. We're going to do our best. We know we have the fans behind us and they're helping out a lot. We're going to try to get the next win.

The second mark was less apparent. Wings defenseman Nick Lidstrom played in his 1,550th game, passing legendary Alex Delvecchio.

It's special when you can chip in and help out on the winning goal, Lidstrom said. Just doing it with the guys and hitting 1,550, but also getting the 20th win, it means a lot.

I think it's more of a thing 20 wins where we don't want to talk about it. We just want to keep it going. Just go out there and play and win games. That's the approach we've had.

Next up for Lidstrom is Gordie Howe (1,687). He would have to play two more years to catch Howe.

Detroit can break the Flyers record with a win here on Tuesday against Dallas.

Loose pucks
Zac Rinaldo just about killed Wings defenseman Jonathan Ericsson behind the net and got a much-deserved charging call in the first periodGoalie Jason Bacashihua was sent back to the Phantoms as Eric Wellwood was recalled to replace Jakub Voracek ... The 1929-30 Boston Bruins also won 20 in a row at home but the Flyers are credited with the modern record ... Brayden Schenn has six goals in his last nine games and 8 goals overall ... The Flyers have now gone four consecutive games without a power play goal after scoring at least one in the six previous games.
