DENVER - Rookie centerman Sean Couturier was released from Pennsylvania Hospital on Sunday, according to the Flyers.

He was held overnight for observation after being struck on the left side of the head by a shot from Kimmo Timonen during Saturday's 6-0 loss to Boston.

Late Sunday afternoon, general manager Paul Holmgren said that it was still "unknown" whether Couturier has been concussed and that the rookie would be re-evaluated on Monday.

The Flyers have not released any information on his discharge or whether Couturier suffered a concussion as most suspect he did.

However, the club called up center Ben Holmstrom from the Phantoms to replace Couturier in the lineup Monday here against the Avalanche. Couturier is not expected to attend this game.
