Flyers injury update: Giroux, Bryz, Pronger

With fingers crossed.

That's how the Flyers go into this coming week as Claude Giroux and Ilya Bryzgalov both recover from injuries incurred in Saturday's 5-2 win over Tampa Bay.

General manager Paul Holmgren said that Giroux "felt better" today after being kneed in the head by Wayne Simmonds during a freak second period play on Saturday. The Flyers are watching for a concussion there.

Giroux will be re-evaluated on Monday.

Bryzgalov incurred what appeared to be a right thigh injury and was doing "much better" and is expected to be available for Tuesday's game in Washington.

Lastly, Erik Gustafsson, recovering from a broken wrist, will be begin rehab this week and skating. He is still about two weeks away from playing. The Flyers desperately need to get Gustafsson back as they have no defensive depth right now with Chris Pronger out indefinitely with an apparent eye concussion.

Pronger will be re-evaluated Monday in Pittsburgh by concussion specialist Joseph Maroon.
