Pronger appears likely to play vs. Lightning

The snarl is back in Chris Pronger.

The Flyers captain appears to be ready to play Wednesday night in Tampa Bay.

How do we know? He was about to do an interview today, then stepped away for five minutes. When Pronger returned, he was wearing a green shirt that read, Go Screw Yourself.

Yep, Captain Warmth seems ready to return from the right eye injury that he sustained Oct. 24 against Toronto. But he wouldnt commit.

I couldnt tell ya, Pronger said. Ive got to see how I feel after today. I didnt feel too hot yesterday, so well see how I feel today after a pretty good skate.

Pronger participated in everything again today at practice. Could be a morning skate answer, too. He's missed six games since sustaining the injury.

I dont necessarily know, he said. Ill probably have a better indication after I wake up tomorrow how Ill feel and how I feel later tonight once we get there and settle in.

He says his conditioning is holding him back right now.

Its been a little suspect after the last couple days, Pronger said. Again, you dont realize how quickly you can lose it when youve done nothing for seven days. Youre bedridden for four of them, the joints need to be moving.

Sometimes, while I feel like Im 25, when youre laying decrepit in your bed for four or five days, you get a little tight and stiff.

There is still the issue of the visor he will wear that fogs up.

Its different because this rink is a lot colder than the rinks were going to play in, so it will fog up a lot more in the game rinks, Pronger said.

Obviously, when you start hitting and stuff, sweats gonna fly and all the things that guys deal with. Shift in, shift out. After pretty much every shift you have to wipe the visor down to keep it clean. Its just a matter of keeping it clean.
