Relieved Schenn to return vs. Lightning

TAMPA, Fla.Once again, Brayden Schenn will return from injury to rejoin the Flyers lineup.

Schenn, the 20-year-old center, hasnt played since Dec. 3 because of a concussion. He is, to put it mildly, relieved to finally get back in the game.

At the same time, you just want to get that first shift, first period, first game out of the way and stop thinking about it and just keep on going on, Schenn said after Tuesdays morning skate. Obviously Ive been sitting home and thinking about it quite a bit lately, and its good to finally get this out of the way so I can move on.

To say things havent gone Schenns way this season wouldnt begin to cover what the last few months have been like for the young Flyer. Hes been forced out of the Flyers lineup three times this season because of injury (shoulder, foot, concussion) and has played just six games at the NHL level this season.

Hes yet to register a goal or assist, and currently stands at a minus-6all figures hed like to improve upon, assuming he can avoid injury going forward.

Schenn will likely play on the line he last played on, centering Zac Rinaldo and Harry Zolnierczyk. His return could force Jody Shelley from the lineup for Tuesdays 7:30 p.m. game in Tampa.

I feel good, Schenn said. Itll be a big test tonight, and hopefully all goes well.
