Talbot & Lilja out vs. Pens; Manning recalled

The good news is, forward Max Talbot doesn't have a separated or dislocated shoulder which would have ended his season.

Nonetheless, he has what we believe is a badly bruised right shoulder, after hitting the ice hard during a fight with Johnny Boychuk on Saturday in Boston.

Both Talbot and defenseman Andreas Lilja will miss Sunday's huge showdown against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Wells Fargo Center. Lilja was struck with a deflected puck in the throat.

Both are listed as day-to-day. Officially, the Flyers are calling Talbot's injury "upper body."

The Flyers recalled defenseman Brandon Manning from the Phantoms, but it remains unclear who will replace Talbot in the lineup. Enforcer Jody Shelley is available and the Flyers could juggle their lines moving Matt Read around.
