Phillies vs. Cardinals, 5:07 p.m. on TBS

Starting Pitchers
Phillies: Roy Halladay (19-6, 2.35) pitched six scoreless innings in his final start of the season, a 9-4 victory over the Mets. Last year, in the first playoff game of his career, Halladay tossed the second no-hitter in postseason history.

Cardinals: Kyle Lohse (14-8, 3.39) tossed seven innings, allowing six hits and one run, while taking a no-decision in his final start of the season.

Previous games
The Phillies set a franchise record for regular-season wins (102) in their last game of the season, a 4-3 victory over the Braves.

The Cardinals defeated the Astros 8-0 in their last game of the season. The Cardinals earned the NL wild card after the Braves fell to the Phillies.

Head-to-head
The Phillies didn't fare well against the Cardinals this season, posting a 3-6 record while being outscored, 34-32.

Who's hot?
Chase Utley, Hunter Pence, Ryan Howard and Placido Polanco each had two hits in the Phillies' season finale.

Halladay finished the regular season 4-1 with a 1.43 ERA in his final six starts.

The Cardinals stormed back from 8 games behind the Braves on Sept. 5 to claim the NL wild card. St. Louis finished the regular season with 16 wins in its final 21 games.

Storylines
The Phillies finally begin the playoff run that has expectations of a World Series title. Halladay gets the call at what is sure to be a raucous Citizens Bank Park and we all know what happened the last time he took the hill in Game 1 of the NLDS.

The scorching Cardinals are banged-up a bit heading into the postseason, but remain dangerous. Lohse will see if he can build off his last outing against the Phils on Sept. 19, where he allowed no earned runs in 7 13 innings to outduel Halladay in a Cards' win.

Lineup
Rollins SS, Utley 2B, Pence RF, Howard 1B, Victorino CF, Ibanez LF, Polanco 3B, Ruiz C, Halladay P.
