Still no timetable for Howard's return to action

TAMPAPhillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. offered a brief update on Ryan Howards condition Sunday.

Hes doing well, Amaro said before the Phillies played the Yankees. Hes in a walking boot and were hitting it hard with antibiotics trying to get the infection out.

Howard had surgery to repair a torn left Achilles tendon in October. He developed an open wound and an infection in the area of the incision late last month and had a procedure to clean out the area in Baltimore last week. Howard had been on the field, taking batting practice and ground balls before the issue arose. The focus of his rehab is now healing the skin and flushing out the infection. Howards Achilles is intact.

According to Amaro, there is no timetable for Howards returning to the field for workouts.
