BOX SCORE

WASHINGTONThe Sixers never led by 34, nor did they blow out the Wizards by 20 points in the third quarter as they did on Friday night. But they did win 103-90 to improve to 9-3 on the season and 4-3 on the road.

The Sixers led by 12 at the half and 17 points through three quarters. In the fourth quarter the Sixers appeared to be working the clock guarding their double-digit lead.

Turning point
The Sixers came into this game averaging the fewest turnovers (12.9) in the league. They committed just eight on Saturday while forcing 18. They scored 27 points off Washington errors. The Sixers eight turnovers equaled just six points for the Wizards.

Follow the leader
JaVale McGee had a dominant first half. He was 7 for 7 from the floor for 15 points. He had nine rebounds (five offensive) and three blocked shots.

McGee finished with 23 points, 18 rebounds and five blocks. He now leads the NBA with 38 blocks on the season.

Andre Iguodala led the way for the Sixers with 21 points, seven rebounds, five assists and a season-high five steals.

Stat-egic
The Wizards outscored the Sixers 18-4 on second-chance points in the first half. The Sixers balanced that out by games end, scoring 15 second-chance points in the second half and allowing Washington just two.

Washington did not shoot the ball well (38.6 percent) through the first two quarters but finished the game shooting 43 percent, which is what the Sixers shot as well.

Take a bow
Lou Williams (24 points) and Thaddeus Young (18) gave the Sixers a much needed scoring boost. Spencer Hawes and Jodie Meeks were struggling to score and totaled just nine points.

Meeks was 1 for 4 from the field, 24 hours after his dazzling 10-for-11 performance. The Sixers bench outscored the Wizards reserves, 46-15.

Whats next
The Sixers play 10 of their next 11 games at the Wells Fargo Center, where they are 5-0. They will play Milwaukee in a Monday matinee. The Bucks are 4-7. They are led in scoring by Brandon Jennings who averages 19 points. Meanwhile, Andrew Bogut is their top rebounder with nine per game.
