BOX SCORE

To the resounding chants of Beat L.A., the Sixers came from six down in the fourth for a 95-90 comeback win over the Lakers. They improved their overall record to 18-7 and 13-3 on their home floor.

They pulled through with a tremendous fourth-quarter effort, outscoring the Lakers 17-6 from the 5:02 mark to the final buzzer.

The Lakers have two players starting in the upcoming All-Star Game and both showed why they are deserving of those spots on Monday night. Andrew Bynum had 20 points and 20 rebounds, while Kobe Bryant put on a show in the first half.

Turning point
Lou Williams fourth-quarter scoring was crucial to the win. Williams scored 12 of his 14 fourth-quarter points in the final 3:42. He had a team-high 24 for the game.

Follow the leader
Kobe Bryant led all scorers with his 28 points. He started the game 8 of 12 from the floor and passed Shaquille ONeal for fifth on the NBAs all-time scoring list. After the milestone he was just 2 for 14 from the floor, including 1 of 10 in the fourth quarter.

Stat-egic
The Sixers pulled down single-digit rebounds in each of the four quarters with eight, six, six and eight for 30, a season low. Their previous low was 31, which they grabbed in their Jan. 21 loss at Miami. That night, the Heat out-rebounded them by 21. On Monday, they were out-rebounded by 25. The last time the Sixers were victorious when being out-rebounded by 25 was 1994 in a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Sixers had just four turnovers for the game, the fewest by any team ever in the Wells Fargo Center.

Take a bow
At the 5:08 mark of the second quarter, Bryant scored his 24th point of the game and became the NBAs fifth all-time leading scorer, surpassing ONeal. Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Karl Malone, Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain are the four players remaining ahead of him.

Bryant needs 2,819 points to pass Chamberlain. Many in the crowd gave Bryant a standing ovation upon reaching his latest accomplishment.

Whats next?
The Southwest Division-leading San Antonio Spurs come to town Wednesday with a below .500 road record. The Spurs are 4-8 on the road after Mondays win over the Grizzlies.

San Antonio is led in scoring by Tony Parker, who averages 18 points per game. The Spurs, like the Sixers, are a good defensive team, holding opponents to 93.9 points per game.

Back in October 1976, the Spurs made their NBA debut in Philadelphia. Also making his NBA debut that same night was now Hall of Famer, Julius Erving.
