Celtics' Pietrus carted off court after fall vs. Sixers

Bostons Mickael Pietrus left the game on a stretcher after a collision during the second quarter against the Sixers.

Pietrus was fouled by Lou Williams on a drive to the basket and landed awkwardly on his tailbone before his head snapped backward, nearly hitting the court. Pietrus reached for his neck with both hands after the fall and rolled over on his side. He was looked at by medical staff from both teams as his teammates circled around him.

There was no immediate update on his condition.

Pietrus, in his ninth year in the NBA, started in place of an injured Ray Allen. Allen didn't play because of a sore ankle.
