Choose the Sixers' new mascot

Hip Hop, the Sixers former mascot has a lot of free time on his hands after the team parted ways with the acrobatic rabbit last month (see story).
Instead of throwing down insane dunks and greeting children at the Wells Fargo Center, the hare can now get back to daily occurrences of life such as laundry, grocery shopping and surfing the internet.

So when Hip Hop logged on to his former teams official website Monday he must have experienced a range of emotions when he saw the franchises options for its new mascot, but the overriding sentimentbesides laughtermust have been Are you kidding me?

The Sixers unveiled their new choices for mascot on Monday and the trio features cartoonish versions of Ben Franklin (Big Ben), a dog (B. Franklin Dogg) and a moose (Phil E. Moose). Yes, a moose in Philadelphia. All three of the characters sport Sixers attire with B. Franklin Dogg even donning a Liberty Bell shaped hat with a 76ers logo.

Vote here to determine which one becomes the official mascot.

A new era is beginning for the Philadelphia 76ers under new ownership and we welcome Philadelphia sports fans helping us to select the new Sixers mascot, Sixers CEO Adam Aron said in a statement. Jim Hensons Creature Shop has done an outstanding job in giving Philadelphia fans three heart-warming characters to embrace.

Its un-American not to like B. Franklin Dogg, who after all is mans best friend. With his great height, Phil E. Moose is a natural who can stand tall defending and cheering the Sixers as they take on all comers. And then there is lovable, venerable Big Ben, perhaps the greatest Philadelphian of all time.

Obviously, mascots are aimed at children and the team did receive support for removing Hip Hop from his post. But are these options really any better?

Big Shot doesnt believe so, but check out the photos and let us know what you think.
