Sixers to host scrimmage at Palestra

The Sixers will host a free intrasquad scrimmage at the Palestra Sunday, CEO Adam Aron announced Wednesday on 94 WIP in an interview with CSNPhilly.coms Reuben Frank.

Aron said the evening will feature a full-team scrimmage, with coach Doug Collins miked up for all the fans to hear.

The team is going to play itself, Doug Collins is going to wear a microphone during the entire scrimmage, weve got the dancers dancing, the dunkers dunking, the players are going to give autographs at the end of the scrimmage and its totally free, Aron said.

The Palestra seats about 8,700 for basketball. There are no tickets for the event -- its free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. The scrimmage will go from 6-8 p.m.

The 76ers open the preseason Friday at Washington and open the regular season on Dec. 26 at Portland. The home opener is Jan. 6 against the Pistons.
