Previous games
The Sixers are coming off their best game of this young season, a 107-79 beating of the Golden State Warriors. Before that, they lost a tough one by three points to the Utah Jazz.
After winning their first two games of the season (against Phoenix and Boston), the Hornets have dropped their last three to Phoenix, Sacramento and Houston.

Who's hot?
Lou Williams and Andre Iguodala come into the game averaging a combined 37 points per game and are a combined 21 for 36 from three-point range. Spencer Hawes has been very hot in the early going, averaging 12 points, 12.5 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game.

Point guard Jarrett Jack, who has replaced the traded Chris Paul, has filled in nicely. Jack is averaging 16.5 points and 8 assists per game.

Story lines
The Sixers will end their five-game road trip to start the season against New Orleans on Wednesday. They'll have their home opener on Friday at the Wells Fargo Center against the Detroit Pistons. It will be the first of four straight home games. Of the Sixers' 17 games in January, 13 are home games.
