Penner returns to Ducks on one-year deal

The Anaheim Ducks brought back big forward Dustin Penner on a one-year, $5.8 million deal. Penner left Anaheim in 2007 to sign an offer sheet with the Edmonton Oilers. He won a Stanley Cup with the Los Angeles Kings in 2011-12.

Bruins ink Rask for eight years

The Bruins re-signed restricted free agent goalie Tuukka Rask to an eight-year, $56 million contract. Rask was a major success in his first season as the Bruins' full-time starter, helping Boston reach the Stanley Cup Final against the Blackhawks.

Oilers acquire Perron from Blues

The Oilers on Wednesday acquired David Perron from the Blues for Magnus Paajarvi and a 2014 second-round pick. Perron had 25 points in 48 games with St. Louis last season, while Paajarvi was the No. 10 pick in 2009.

Ducks sign Stortini, Yonkman

Right wing Zack Stortini and defenseman Nolan Yonkman each signed one-year deals with the Ducks. Stortini spent last season in the AHL with the Hamilton Bulldogs while Yonkman played in seven games for the Panthers.

Nashville lands Stalberg

Stalberg signed with the Predators for four years and $12 million dollars. The 27-year-old forward was part of the Blackhawks' Stanley Cup team last season.

Senators nab Corvo

36-year-old Joe Corvo was signed to a one-year deal with the Senators on Monday. Corvo spent last season with the Hurricans.

Strachan, Watkins, Leggio sign with Caps

The Capitals on Monday signed Tyson Strachan, Matt Watkins and David Leggio to one-year, two-way deals.

Over the last five seasons, Strachan has been a part of 120 NHL games. Watkins and Leggio played in the AHL last season.


Mueller becomes a Star

Chris Mueller on Monday signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Stars. He spent 18 games with the Predators last season.

Sabres reacquire Tallinder

The Sabres traded prospect Riley Boychuk for Kenrik Tallender, who was drafted by the Sabres in the second round of the 1997 draft.

Blues ink Roy


Derek Roy and the Blues have agreed to terms on a one-year deal. Roy spent last season with Vancouver and Dallas.

Jets sign Pardy

The Jets on Saturday signed defenseman Adam Pardy. The 29-year-old was selected by the Flames in the sixth round of the 2004 draft.

Iginla goes to Boston

The Bruins landed Jarome Iginla on Friday for a base salary of $1.8 million and $4.2 million in incentives. The Bruins had tried to get the 36-year-old at the trade deadline but lost out to Pittsburgh. Last season, Iginla had 14 goals and 19 assists.

Clarkson signs with Maple Leafs

David Clarkson left New Jersey and landed in Toronto. The forward signed a seven-year, and a reported $36.75 million contract.

Coyotes sign Ribeiro

The Coyotes grabbed free agent Mike Ribeiro on Friday. They signed the 33-year-old center to a four-year deal worth $22 million.

Devils sign Clowe

Ryane Clowe won't have to travel very far, but he is on the move to New Jersey. The Devils agreed to a $24.25 million, five-year contract with the former Ranger on Friday.

Alfredsson, Weiss join Red Wings

Daniel Alfredsson was one of the first players to find a new home when free agency opened Friday. The former Ottawa Senators captain agreed to a one-year deal with the Red Wings following a 10-goal season. He has 1,108 career points with the Senators. Stephen Weiss also signed with Detroit, signing a five-year, $24.5 million deal after spending the last 10 seasons as a Florida Panther.

Senators acquire Ryan

In order to fill the gap left by Alfredsson, the Senators acquired forward Bobby Ryan in a trade with Anaheim. In exchange, the Ducks acquired Jakob Silfverberg, Stefan Noesen and a first-round pick in next year's draft.

Horton signs with Blue Jackets

Despite scheduled offseason shoulder surgery, Nathan Horton on Friday was signed to a long-term deal by the Blue Jackets. The deal is worth $37.1 million over seven years.

Ference inks with Oilers

The Oilers will look to improve their defense next season with the addition of former Bruin Andrew Ference. The 34-year-old inked a four-year deal worth $13 million.

Kyle Beach -- Agreed to a one-year extension with the Blackhawks.

Chris Been -- Agreed to a one-year, two-way contract Calgary

Eric Tangradi -- Agreed to a one-year, $1.35 million deal with Winnipeg.

Jared Staal -- Agreed to a two-way, one-year deal worth $550,000 at the NHL level with Carolina.

Alec Martinez -- Agreed to a two-year extension with Los Angeles.

Josh Bailey -- Agreed to a five-year, $16.5 million deal with the Islanders.

Jacob Markstrom -- Agreed to a two-year contract with the Panthers.

Marcus Kruger -- Agreed to a two-year extension with Chicago.

Harry Zolnierczyk -- Signed a one-year, two-way deal worth $550,000 at the NHL level with Pittsburgh.

Ryan White -- Agreed to a one-year extention with Montreal.

Ryan McDonagh -- Agreed to terms on six-year, $28.2 million deal with Rangers as a restricted free agent.

Matt Beleskey -- Agreed to a two-year contract extension with Anaheim.

Ryan Jones -- Agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Oilers after entering free agency.

Alexander Sulzer -- Signed a one-year contract with the Sabres, who acquired the defenseman from the Canucks at the 2012 trade deadline.

Craig Adams -- Re-signed with the Penguins with a two-year, $1.4 million contract.

Saku Koivu -- Signed a one-year contract with the Ducks. Specifics of the deal have not yet been released.

Michael Stone -- The Coyotes re-signed the defenseman to a three-year deal.

Tyler Bozak -- Re-signed with the Maple Leafs.

Chris Summers -- The Coyotes also re-signed Summers. The defenseman accepted a one-year deal to stay in Phoenix.

Travis Hamonic -- The defenseman re-signed with the Islanders for the long term. He agreed to a seven-year, $27 million contract.

Chris Butler -- Signed with the Flames in a one-year deal. He played 44 games with Calgary last season.

Kyle Chipchura -- Coyotes re-signed the forward to a multi-year deal. Details were not released.

Michal Handzus -- The Blackhawks re-signed Handzus to a one-year deal.

Michal Rozsival -- Chicago also re-signed Rozsival. The defenseman agreed to a two-year contract.

Greg Nemisz -- Signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Flames, who drafted him in the first round of the 2008 NHL draft.

Jared Spurgeon -- The Wild re-signed the defenseman to a three-year deal.

Scott Hannan -- Re-signed with San Jose, which acquired by the predators at the 2013 trade deadline.

Evgeni Nabokov -- The netminder was re-signed by the Islanders to a one-year contract.

Carl Hagelin -- The restricted free agent signed for two years, $4.5 million with the Rangers.

Karl Alzner -- The Capitals handed out a four-year, $11.2 million extension to Alzner.

Marek Zidlicky -- The 36-year-old re-signed with the Devils for one year.
