Watch 2 fans go fishing for Stephen Curry autographs

When you go fishing, your goal is always to hook something great.

For Captain Ahab, it was a white whale. For most non-fictional characters, it's a slightly more feasible fish. But for a father and son at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday, that something great was NBA MVP Steph Curry.

As you likely have heard, the defending champion Golden State Warriors are in town and fans are looking to get their hands on anything Curry. The Warriors had a shootaround at the arena Saturday in preparation for a Sunday afternoon showdown with the Sixers (see game notes).

With the visiting team's entrance well below where fans can go, a father-son duo figured their only chance for an autograph was to go fishing, using a clipboard of Curry memorabilia as bait.

And as you can see in this video posted by the Warriors, it worked. Curry signed both a jersey and Sports Illustrated with his face on the cover for the creative autograph seekers.
