Eagles injuries: Vick, Maclin and DRC out

The Eagles Wednesday morning ruled quarterback Michael Vick out for their game Thursday evening against the Seahawks, the third straight game hell miss with broken ribs.

Vick, who also missed three games last year with broken ribs and rib cartilage damage, got hurt during the loss to Arizona. Vince Young, who started against the Giants and Patriots, will make his third start as an Eagle Thursday night in Seattle.

The Eagles also ruled out Jeremy Maclin for the Seahawks with a lingering hamstring injury.

Vick and Maclin did not accompany the team on its charter flight to Seattle early Wednesday morning.

Maclin, who was having a career year, also got hurt in the Arizona game on Nov. 13 at the Linc. He appeared to be making progress and returned to practice on Wednesday last week but aggravated the injury and has not practiced since.

Maclin, who has never had a 1,000-yard season, was on pace for 88 receptions and more than 1,200 yards through eight games before getting hurt.

The Eagles also said offensive lineman King Dunlap (concussion) and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (high ankle sprain) did not make the trip to Seattle.

By the time the Eagles face the Dolphins in Miami a week from Sunday, Vick will have been out for a month. Head coach Andy Reid, speaking to the media on Tuesday, gave no indication when Vick would be able to return to action.

Vick did some light throwing before practice on Tuesday, but Reid said hes still physically limited by the injury when throwing.

Young has thrown for 658 yards with three touchdowns and four interceptions in his two starts. His 400 yards against the Patriots were ninth-most in franchise history.

Young is 31-18 in his NFL career, including five years with the Titans. He said he approaches every game as if hes going to start, whether or not Vick is injured.

Hes a tough guy and you never know with him, so you just have to prepare yourself, Young said. Its pretty much the same each week, even from Week 1, Week 2. You know, its just preparation, you never know what goes on and you always have to be prepared.

So its really nothing too different about it. The only thing is when the head coach tells you you have to start. So overall you just want to stay in the book and stay ready.

The Eagles also list cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha (knee) and tailback LeSean McCoy (toe), the NFLs leading rusher, as questionable, and defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins (thumb) probable.

The Eagles and Seahawks meet at 8:20 p.m. at CenturyLink Field. The Eagles are the first East Coast team playing on a Thursday on the West Coast since the Bills faced the Raiders in Oakland in 1968.
