Eagles sign tackle Harris, then add safety Page

There is no such thing as a day off for the Eagles' front office.

At least not these days.

The Eagles added another piece to their offense Tuesday, signing former Broncos offensive tackle Ryan Harris to a one-year deal. Two hours earlier, they signed former Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown.

"We're just about done. This is our team," a senior team official said.

Selected by Denver in the third round of the 2007 draft, the 26-year-old Harris played his first four NFL seasons for the Broncos, starting at right tackle for the last three.

The Notre Dame product will give the Eagles needed depth at the position. With Winston Justice (knee) on the physically unable to perform list, Austin Howard and King Dunlap have been taking the reps at right tackle during camp. Harris can also play left tackle.

According to the Denver Post, Harris was expected to remain with the Broncos.

Yet the Eagles still weren't done.

Tuesday evening they signed safety Jarrad Page, who spent his first four seasons with Kansas City before being traded to New England last season.

Page, 26, gives the Eagles a veteran presence behind three young safeties: second-year pros Nate Allen and Kurt Coleman, and rookie Jaiquawn Jarrett. In 63 career games, including 40 starts, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound Page has 12 interceptions and four forced fumbles.

Drafted by K.C. out of UCLA in the seventh round in 2006, Page started all 16 games for the Chiefs in 2007 and 2008. Last season with the Patriots, he played 10 games, starting one, and had two interceptions.

The Eagles' players had the day off at camp Tuesday and return to practice Wednesday at 8:05 a.m.
