BOSTON -- Former New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes was cited by state police Friday for rear-ending another vehicle on a Massachusetts highway then leaving the scene.

Spikes, 27, is accused of leaving the scene of an accident causing injury, speeding, driving negligently and failing to stay within marked lanes.

He will be summoned to Wrentham District Court at a date to be determined.

Spikes' Mercedes-Benz Maybach was found abandoned in the median of Interstate 495 in Foxborough at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday with heavy front-end damage. At about the same time, police responded to a report that a Nissan Murano SUV had been struck from behind by a vehicle that left the scene. Three members of the same family from Billerica, including a 12-year-old boy, were treated at the hospital for minor injuries (see full story).

Media group asks judge to unseal Hernandez juror documents
FALL RIVER, Mass. -- A media group has asked a judge to unseal documents relating to a juror in ex-New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez's recent murder trial in Massachusetts.

GateHouse Media argued Friday before Superior Court Judge Susan Garsh that information about the unidentified juror must be made public, citing the First Amendment.

Hernandez lawyer James Sultan filed papers under seal requesting an inquiry into a juror's "exposure to significant extraneous matter." Sultan hasn't disclosed details about the issue, and prosecutors have said they don't know, either.

GateHouse Media attorney Zack Kleinsasser says Hernandez's attorneys haven't shown why the documents need to be sealed and haven't provided alternatives, such as redaction.

Garsh took the arguments under advisement.

Hernandez was convicted of killing Odin Lloyd in 2013. He was sentenced to life in prison.

Lions: Silverdome for sale
PONTIAC, Mich. -- The Pontiac Silverdome is up for sale again, with an asking price of about $30 million.

The former home of the Detroit Lions was sold for $583,000 six years ago. Real estate broker Robert Mihelich says the stadium and its property went back on the market recently and has already gotten offers.

Michelich tells The Oakland Press and Detroit Free Press that the Silverdome would likely be razed for redevelopment. The stadium has fallen into disrepair, with its roof damaged in a 2013 winter storm. Many items from the stadium were auctioned off last year.

Katherine Holmes, a spokeswoman for the current owner, says they're looking for sale, lease or partnership development opportunities.

The Lions last played at the Silverdome in 2002 before moving to Ford Field in Detroit.
