NFL schedule day: Eagles 2012 opponents

The National Football League will release its 2012 regular season schedule during a three-hour television special Tuesday evening.

Of course, interested fans are, to an extent, already aware of the Birds' docket for next season. The NFL's scheduling matrix is known through 2017 and the Eagles full slate of opponents for next season has been known for months.

Per usual, the Eagles will play their divisional opponents twice. They have also been scheduled against the NFC South and the AFC North and have drawn the Detroit Lions and Arizona Cardinals as a result of their 2011 regular season record.

Tonight's special will merely fill in the gaps that teams and fans don't already know -- namely, when the Eagles will play each team and in what order they'll see them.

And so, in advance of the times and dates, here is a list of the teams the Eagles are scheduled to play in 2012:
