Rams sign former Eagles DT Laws

The Eagles drafted Trevor Laws 47th overall in 2008, and after four mildly disappointing seasons the defensive tackle will move on to St. Louis.

Laws tweeted the news Wednesday night, writing: To all my people from Philly I will miss ya... but its time for me to take this show to STL. memories

Hoping to boost a lackluster defensive line, Laws, 27, joins the Rams on a one-year deal, CSN's Derrick Gunn confirms. Laws played 14 games for the Eagles last season, totaling 20 tackles and one sack.

Laws best season in green came in 2010, when he notched four sacks and intercepted a pass. A rotation player for the Eagles, Laws found the field for a career-high 484 snaps that season.

The Eagles, who signed lineman Derek Landri last week, could afford to lose Laws with five defensive tackles on the roster. In addition to Landri, the Eagles have Mike Patterson, Cullen Jenkins, Antonio Dixon and Cedric Thorton under contract.
