Q. Given Sean Paytons suspension and Drew Brees reluctance to sign the Saints franchise tag, is there any chance the Eagles wrestle Brees away? I realize it would be a long shot, but a quarterback like Brees is something the Eagles would need if they are truly serious about getting back to the Super Bowl.
Lets pretend we have the cap space. My question to you is would the Saints be willing to give up their disgruntled quarterback for a Mike Vick and Asante Samuel combo?

A. Mike Vick and Asante Samuel for Drew Brees? Brendan, youre dreaming. Either that or you are just pulling my leg. There is no way that can happen.
The Saints are in disarray and Brees is very unhappy with his contract, but the team cannot afford to let him go. With all that his gone wrong with the suspension of Payton and the loss of the draft picks, the Saints cant compound matters by losing their best and most popular player. The fans would revolt.
The Saints have no choice. They have to make things right with Brees.
