A source tells CSNPhilly.com's Reuben Frank a deal to trade Asante Samuel to the Falcons should be completed today barring any last-minute complications.
Samuel is under contract for two more seasons at 9.9 million this season and 11.4 next season. His cap hit is 11 million this year and 12.5 next season, although his agent has said Samuel would be open to restructuring his contract if traded.
If the Eagles trade Samuel, they will be able to start Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie on the outside, where both are more comfortable. They will also be able to play veteran Joselio Hanson in the slot.
Samuel, 31, is a four-time Pro Bowler and has 52 career interceptions, including seven in the postseason. He has made three Pro Bowls in his four seasons with the Eagles and has 25 interceptions in 61 games.
