Ilya Bryzgalov wouldnt say for certain whether the chip fracture in his right foot bothered him during Tuesdays 5-3 loss to the Rangers.
But he did give up four goals on the first 11 shots, which was rather un-Ilya-like given his performance all through March prior to getting injured.
That said, the Flyers goalie got no help whatsoever from his forwards, who abandoned the high slot the entire first period.
It is a little bit tough, Bryzgalov said. They had some power plays and some five on threes. It seems like in the first period there was a shot and a rebound and maybe we kind of waited a little bit.
Maybe it was a little bit fresher. It is tough to say, but they scored goals because of it."
Asked how he felt
I can't tell you anything about me, he replied, then added to ask him about his foot on Wednesday.
Does the foot bother you?
We are close to the playoffs, I don't want to talk about this.
What he did say was, I can be better. I think I could play better.
Goals and points
Defenseman Andreas Lilja had his first goal as a Flyer taken away from him. It went to Scott Hartnell in the third period.
As such, that becomes Hartnells 37th goal, giving him the most goals by a Flyer since Jeff Carter scored 46 in the 2008-09 season.
With three assists against the Rangers, Claude Giroux now has 92 points. Thats the most by a Flyer since Eric Lindros had 93 points in the 1998-99 season.
Last time
The Flyers went without a win in a series of six or more games was the 2006-07 series against Pittsburgh, when they were 0-5-2. The Flyers hadnt been swept in regulation in a series of six games or more since the Rangers and Boston Bruins won all six games between the teams in 1971-72.
