With the NHL still locked out, Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang is taking his game overseas.
According to ProHockeyTalk, Letang has agreed to join Russian team SKA Saint Petersburg for the remainder of the lockout.
In the last two seasons, Letang has scored 18 goals and tallied 74 assists in 133 games, earning him consecutive All-Star team selections.
Henrique faces month-long rehab
Adam Henrique won't be ready for the start of the NHL season if it begins, after the New Jersey Devils center tore his ulnar collateral ligament during a stint with AHL Albany in November.
Henrique had his cast removed this week, but will require 3-4 weeks of rehab to strengthen his hand, according to NorthJersey.com (via ProHockeyTalk).
Henrique, who was a finalist for last season's Calder Trophy, scored 16 goals and had 35 assists in 74 games last year.
Player fined for biting Tavares
New York Islanders forward John Tavares was bitten by a defenseman on Dec. 22.
Clarence Kparghai was fined 900 Swiss francs -- approximately 1,000 dollars -- for the incident, according to IIHF communications manager Szymon Szemberg (via ProHockeyTalk).
In 82 games with the Islanders last season, Tavares recorded 31 goals and 50 assists.
