NEWARK, N.J. -- Mike Santorelli scored the only goal in the shootout, and the Vancouver Canucks edged the New Jersey Devils 3-2 on Thursday night.
In a matchup of former teammates, Roberto Luongo got the best of Cory Schneider - who used to be his backup in Vancouver. Luongo turned aside Travis Zajac, Adam Henrique and Patrik Elias in the tiebreaker to make Santorelli's goal stand up.
The Devils took a 1-0 lead just 5:05 into the game when Andrei Lokotonov found Elias for a shot from the left circle for his third goal. Ryan Kesler tied it at 6:07 with his fifth goal (see full recap).
Krejci's late goal lifts Bruins over Sharks
BOSTON -- David Krejci tipped in a shot with eight-tenths of a second left in the third period to lift the Boston Bruins to a 2-1 win over San Jose on Thursday night, sending the Sharks to their first regulation loss of the season.
Jarome Iginla scored his first goal with the Bruins (7-2) and goaltender Tuukka Rask was outstanding, making 38 saves.
Patrick Marleau had San Jose's goal, his eighth of the season. Antti Niemi stopped 15 shots.
Krejci, positioned in the slot, tipped defenseman Adam McQuaid's shot from the point between Niemi's pads for the game-winner (see full recap).
Lightning's St. Louis scores in OT to beat 'Hawks
TAMPA, Fla. -- Martin St. Louis scored 1:16 of overtime and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Chicago Blackhawks 6-5 on Thursday night.
St. Louis got the game-winner from in-close. The Tampa Bay captain also had an assist and moved past Neal Broten (923) for 93rd place on the career points list with 924.
Steven Stamkos scored a tiebreaking power-play goal as the Tampa Bay went up 5-4 at 17:31 of the third.
Chicago's Jonathan Toews was credited a game-tying goal with 1:49 left in the period after the Lightning put the puck into their own net (see full recap).
