The Flyers looked like they were going to earn a quality win in New Jersey, but after racing out to a 3-1 lead in the opening period, the Devils scored four unanswered goals to edge the Flyers, 5-3 (see story).

In the loss, veteran defenseman Kimmo Timonen left the game with a lower-body injury and did not return (see story).

Now, here's a review of Friday night's action around the NHL:

Penguins take down Jets
WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- Craig Adams wishes he had more nights like this.

The Pittsburgh winger scored his first two goals of the season and the Penguins earned their 10th victory with a 3-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Friday night.

"If I had more nights like this I would make a better living," Adams said.

Adams scored one goal at 3:19 of the first period and added an empty-netter with 28 seconds left for the team's seventh road victory (see full recap).

Blackhawks stay hot, top Sharks
CHICAGO -- Marcus Kruger and Andrew Shaw scored during Chicago's strong second period, and the NHL-leading Blackhawks beat the sliding San Jose Sharks 4-1 on Friday night for their fifth win in six games.

Dave Bolland and Niklas Hjalmarsson also scored for the Blackhawks, who remain the league's only team without a regulation loss. Jamal Mayers had two assists and backup Ray Emery made 27 saves for his fourth win in four starts this season.

Chicago's first home win since Jan. 27 against Detroit had a little bit of everything, including a rare fight between captains Jonathan Toews of the Blackhawks and Joe Thornton of the Sharks (see full recap).

Sabres rally past Bruins
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Christian Ehrhoff and the Buffalo Sabres haven't had much success this season, but they can claim one thing: They know how to beat the Boston Bruins.

Ehrhoff scored the game-winner with 10:58 remaining and the Sabres rallied for three goals in the third period of a 4-2 victory over the Bruins on Friday night.

Both of the Bruins' losses in regulation have come against Buffalo (6-8-1). The Sabres, who have won only four of their last 13 games, also won 7-4 in Boston on Jan. 31 (see full recap).
