The Flyers have finally reached the .500 mark after a defensive-minded 2-1 win over Ottawa.
They are now 11-11-1, winning their last two games since Simon Gagne came back to the team, even though it feels like he never left (see story).
The Flyers are off until Tuesday, so here are some other NHL games to watch for on Sunday:
Canadiens at Bruins 7:30 p.m.
The Bruins have won six consecutive games and will look to extend their Northeast Division lead over the Canadiens on Sunday.
The Canadiens have also been playing good hockey, going 7-0-3 in their last ten games. Goaltender Carey Price, who has an 11-3-3 record this season, has been solid all season for Montreal.
Yet, Boston’s netminder Tuukka Rask is not too shabby himself with a record of 11-2-1 and a goals against average of 1.82.
Blues at Stars, 3 p.m.
Blues goaltender Brian Elliot is having a rough year, recording a 3.57 goals against average so far, which is a stark contrast to last year’s GAA of 1.56. He has been benched the past eight games, but is expected to start today for the first time since Feb. 11.
Ex-Flyer and current Dallas Star Jaromir Jagr will be looking to add to his team-high 14 points and six goals against the struggling Elliot.
Dallas, which is not in a playoff spot entering today, is also looking to gain ground in the Western Conference.
Sabres at Rangers, 7:30 p.m.
Buffalo is looking to extend its win streak to four after a tough 6-12-1 start to the season. The Sabres really seem to struggle on the man advantage, as the team's power-play percentage is a league low 11.4 percent.
The Rangers are not much better in power-play percentage. They are only 11.8 percent effective, good for 29th in the league.
The Rangers are trying to turn their season around as well. They lost four straight games before beating Tampa Bay on Thursday in Rick Nash’s return to the lineup. It was an ideal time for Nash to be back on the ice because he has six goals in his last seven games against Buffalo.
