The Eagles signed an undrafted kicker nicknamed ‘Murderleg'

The Eagles signed an undrafted kicker out of Vanderbilt on Saturday night who often goes by the nickname "Murderleg."

Perhaps the Birds have finally found someone to be the Bizarro Luis Zendejas.

Vandy kicker Carey Spear has something of a mean streak to him. He's been known to get down field after kickoffs and DRILL opposing players. For example:

Philly.com's Justin Klugh describes the move:

Considering the Eagles' current kicker, Alex Henery, knocked in a mere 82% of field goal attempts last season, some fresh blood would be welcome, whether it be Spear's young blood winning the starting job, or the blood of the other team's returner after Spear finishes feeding on him.

So now we've got the training camp storylines of Murderleg AND the 6-foot-9 American war hero.

Just your typical fun in the sun in South Philly this summer.

RoobCSN has more on Spear's resume and his impressive touchback numbers on kickoffs.
