Video: Vick and Foles deliver joint press conference, won't let job ruin the friendship

The big news to come out of Michael Vick and Nick Foles’ historic joint press conference on Thursday was… wait—historic joint press conference?

Yes, love was in the air as the two quarterbacks took the stage together to speak to the press—an NFL first according to Vick—and I’m sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the media tent. Foles loves Vick, Vick loves Foles, and everybody is beautiful.

Amid all the fun and games though, this is about reporting the news, and Vick had provided the scoop. The four-time Pro Bowler ruled himself out for Sunday’s game against Dallas, which means Foles gets his second start of the season by default.

Vick added that he may not be ready next week either. Tim McManus for Birds 24/7 Tweeted that timetable would mesh with a league source saying Vick’s hamstring is a 3-4 week injury.

No matter which side you’re on in the great Eagles debate, you have to admire how both men are handling the situation, especially Vick. Too often you see veteran starters pout the minute their job is in jeopardy, but it appears Vick couldn’t be more supportive of his teammate. That shows tremendous leadership to be able to put the team first like that.

As pressers go, this was fun, yet still contained thoughtful answers from both players. I could get used to these joint pressers.
