Sports Illustrated put together a gallery of their 100 Greatest Sports Photos of All Time and it featured a handful of Philly classics. If you polled random Philadelphians Family Feud style as to the most iconic and memorable image in Philly sports history, I'd guess the top answer would be Chuck Bednarik's fist bump while standing over a horizontal Frank Gifford. That photo makes S.I.'s list alongside others featuring Julius Erving, Wilt Chamberlain, and the infamous Fog Bowl game in Chicago.
Is there an iconic Philly sports photo that didn't make the cut? I'd guess maybe this one should have gotten some consideration. Maybe the Doc-Bird fight/choke as well.
