Conventional wisdom says the Cowboys’ offensive line is one of the NFL’s best.
Bennie Logan isn’t buying it.
Logan, the Eagles’ second-year defensive tackle out of LSU, got Eagles-Cowboys week off to an interesting start Monday, when he questioned just how good that Cowboys O-line really is.
Asked for his impressions of the Dallas offensive line, Logan said simply: “They’re OK.”
Just OK?
“Yeah, they’re OK,” Logan continued. “I don’t really know what’s great about them.”
The Eagles and Cowboys, both 8-3 and atop the NFC East, meet on Thanksgiving Day in Arlington, Texas, and on national TV, in a game with huge playoff implications.
Logan and co. will face an offensive line that has helped the Cowboys rank sixth in the NFL in yards per game, second in yards per play, second in rushing yards and sixth in points per game.
In the Cowboys' comeback win over the Giants Sunday night, Dallas' line dominated at the end of the game, giving Tony Romo unlimited time in the pocket on the game-winning touchdown drive.
But Logan hasn’t been impressed.
“The running back’s having a good year running, but I don’t see anything spectacular about them,” he said at his locker after practice. “Same offensive line we faced last year and they have one new guy. We faced them [before]. They’re OK linemen.”
The running back is DeMarco Murray, who leads the NFL with 1,354 yards, 303 yards ahead of Le’Veon Bell.
The Eagles’ defensive line has played well, but the Eagles rank 27th in the NFL in yards allowed, 16th in yards per play, 30th in pass defense and 21st in points allowed.
“Murray’s a real good back,” Logan said. “He’s a patient back. Once he sees the hole, he’s going to hit it, and their offensive line does a good job of stretch blocking and things like that.
“But I don’t think there’s anything spectacular or special about them.”
