As part of several Eagles coaching changes Tuesday, Tra Thomas will no longer be an assistant with the team.

Thomas worked with the Eagles as an intern in the 2013 offseason before being brought on as an offensive assistant prior to that season.

The former offensive tackle was drafted by the Eagles in 1998 and played 11 of his 12 NFL seasons with the team.

In other moves, the Eagles named Princeton's inside linebackers coach Stephen Thomas the team’s new defensive quality control coach, while also making assistant special teams coach Matthew Harper the new assistant defensive backs coach and defensive quality control coach Michael Clay the new assistant special teams coach.

The Eagles have also hired University of Alabama director of football operations Joe Pannunzio, a source told CSNPhilly.com.

Thomas spent three seasons at Princeton after coaching at Delaware and Southern Mississippi.

This past season, he coached Princeton linebacker Mike Zeuli to the Bushnell Cup as the Ivy League's Defensive Player of the Year.

The previous season, he helped Princeton win the Ivy League title.

Thomas played defensive back at the University of Buffalo, where he earned a degree in chemical and biological engineering in 2006.

Harper came to the Eagles in the 2013 offseason and was named the team’s assistant special teams coach. Harper was an intern and graduate assistant under Chip Kelly at Oregon from 2009-12.

Clay, a former linebacker at Oregon, has spent the past two seasons with the Eagles.
