Brandon Flowers, cornerback
Age: 29
Height: 5-9
Weight: 187
Last team: San Diego Chargers

Scouting report
Flowers signed a one-year deal with San Diego last season after the Chiefs released him coming off his lone Pro Bowl season. He intercepted one pass, keeping his streak alive of having at least one interception in each of his seven seasons since Kansas City drafted him 35th overall in 2008. He has 20 career interceptions and two sacks. He was Pro Football Focus’ 15th-rated cornerback in 2014. Flowers made $3 million last season in base salary and signing bonus.

Geoff’s take
Of all the top corners on the market, Flowers is the one I’d pass on. He’s not old but he’s also not a spring chicken. He’ll be on his third team in three years. His height doesn’t fit Chip Kelly’s preferences for outside corners. I’m not saying he’s not an upgrade over Bradley Fletcher. Flowers is still a good corner. But if it came down to signing a veteran for one year, I’d rather see the Eagles go with Antonio Cromartie, an excellent man-press corner with length, than with Flowers.

Roob’s take
I like Flowers, but at 5-9 I just don’t think he’s a guy Kelly would pay big money for. Flowers played well this past season in his first year with the Chargers. He’s been a very durable corner, missing just 10 games in seven years — only three cornerbacks have started more games since 2008 than Flowers. He’s consistent, productive and a good locker room guy. Flowers is a solid pro. I’d pursue him in a second, but I don’t think Kelly will.
