Ray Rice, RB
Age: 28
Height: 5-9
Weight: 195
Last team: Baltimore Ravens

Scouting report
Suspended for almost all of last season for striking his then-fiancee in an Atlantic City casino last offseason, Rice won an appeal for his reinstatement in December but wasn’t signed. He was released by the Ravens and spent all of 2014 unemployed despite a résumé that includes three Pro Bowls, four 1,000-yard rushing seasons and two seasons of 2,000 yards from scrimmage. Rice has 6,180 career rushing yards and 37 rushing touchdowns to go along with 3,034 receiving yards and six touchdowns. He’s averaged 4.3 yards per rush throughout his career and 8.2 yards per catch.

Geoff’s take
Domestic violence is a heinous crime, but let’s face it: Rice will play in the NFL next year. Guys who’ve committed heinous crimes have been welcomed back into the league before, as the Eagles did with Michael Vick. I wouldn’t have any issue if the Eagles signed Rice, but I don’t think they’ll even sniff him. His last full year was his worst as a pro. Then he missed all of last season. His best days are far behind. He does have the versatility that bodes well for Chip Kelly’s offense, and the Eagles need a veteran running back, but I’d take Frank Gore or Mark Ingram before I’d take Rice.

Roob’s take
Don’t want him. Don’t like him. Don’t need him. Even without taking his off-the-field issues into account, Rice is the last guy I’d add to this roster. Factor in that elevator video, and no way.
