For the second straight week, Vinny Curry will watch the Eagles’ game in street clothes.
Curry, the second-year defensive end, is among the team’s inactives for today’s Linc opener against the Chargers. Despite his impressive preseason, Curry hasn’t been involved in the team’s early season plans.
A team source said Curry isn’t in coach Chip Kelly’s dog house and isn’t on the trading block.
He was also inactive for the opener at Washington, and a couple days after the win Curry said he "definitely thought" he would have been active.
Defensive coordinator Billy Davis explained the decision by calling Curry the "odd man out."
Curry has now been inactive for 12 of his 18 NFL games.
Left cornerback Bradley Fletcher is also inactive, as expected. Fletcher sustained a concussion in Monday’s season opener and didn’t practice this week. Brandon Hughes, who was cut before the Redskins game and re-signed right after, was dressed for the game.
Other healthy scratches are: quarterback Matt Barkley, cornerback Shaun Prater, offensive tackles Matt Tobin and Dennis Kelly and fullback Emil Igwenagu. All of them were also inactive for the opener.
