More progress from Patrick Chung. Whether it’s enough for him to get back on the field remains to be seen.

Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said Chung is getting better after missing two games with a shoulder injury, but Kelly said he doesn’t know if Chung will be able to play Sunday in Tampa.

“I think he's improved,” Kelly said Monday. “It's just a matter of how we can function.

“I think the strength is back from what [trainer] Chris [Peduzzi] told us. So it's a matter of how he functions and carries himself around the field.”

Rookie fifth-round pick Earl Wolff has started the last two games in place of Chung at free safety.

Chung was never able to stay healthy for an entire season while he was with the Patriots. He missed two games in 2010 with a knee injury, seven games in 2011 with a foot and one with a thumb and four with a shoulder last year.

Since becoming a starter in 2010, he’s missed 16 of a possible 53 games because of various injuries.

Kelly said that other than Chung and quarterback Michael Vick (see story), everybody else on the roster is healthy heading into the Week 6 game in Tampa against the Bucs.
