Eagles Injury Update: Kendricks, Sproles questionable

The guessing game surrounding the status of Eagles inside linebacker Mychal Kendricks and running back Darren Sproles will continue right up until about an hour before kickoff against the Cardinals in Glendale, Ariz.

Both were listed on the team’s final injury report as questionable to play, along with rehabbing center Jason Kelce.

Kendricks, who’s missed the past four games with a calf injury, and Sproles, who sprained his MCL before the bye week against the Giants, were each limited participants at practice throughout the week.

The Eagles held a walkthrough Friday and everyone except for Brad Smith, who recently underwent groin surgery, participated. Kelce did only limited work all week and isn’t expected to play until November, so it’s mildly interesting that he’s listed as questionable.

The availabily of Sproles and Kendricks likely won’t be known officially until inactives are announced about an hour before Sunday’s game. If Kendricks can’t play, his spot will again be filled by a rotation of Casey Matthews and Emmanuel Acho.

If Sproles can’t go, look for Chris Polk to step into the No. 2 running back role behind LeSean McCoy. Polk missed the Giants game with a hamstring injury but has practiced all week.

Polk hasn’t carried the ball yet this year but he’s returned five kickoffs and took one back 101 yards against the Redskins for a touchdown.
