Eagles Injury Update: Kiko Alonso's tendinitis ‘not very pressing'

Chip Kelly said Saturday night in Green Bay that the leg tendinitis that kept Kiko Alonso from making his Eagles debut was unrelated to the torn ACL he suffered last July.

He said something different on Tuesday.

"I don't even know," Kelly said when asked if Alonso's tendinitis was in the surgically repaired knee.

"I know he's got tendinitis. It's not very pressing. He didn't have any issues [Monday]. He'll go out [Tuesday] and [Wednesday] and we'll see where he is."

Alonso has not played at all this preseason. Surprisingly, Alonso said Tuesday he'll play in the Eagles' preseason finale against the New York Jets on Thursday (see story).

Alonso has not played a game since the Bills' regular-season finale on Dec. 29, 2013. If he suits up Thursday, it will be his first NFL game action in 612 days.

Wide receiver Riley Cooper was back at practice Tuesday after missing Monday.

Kicker Cody Parkey, who missed the Green Bay game and hasn't practiced since tweaking his groin last Tuesday in practice, is "doing well," Kelly said.

The Eagles must make two more roster cuts by 4 p.m. Tuesday. Kelly said the decision would wait until after practice.
