Eagles' rookies get their jersey numbers

A day after the Eagles wrapped up their draft, the team released jersey numbers for its new rookies.

The Eagles selected seven players (see Eagles draft central), five of which play on the defensive side of the ball (see story).

In addition to those seven, the Eagles also inked 15 undrafted free agents (see story).

Here are the numbers, along with shoutouts to a few notable Birds who wore the same:

Marcus Smith – 90
Notable Eagle to wear No. 90:
William Perry, famously known as "The Refrigerator," played his final 24 games with the Eagles. Defensive tackle Corey Simon, whom the Eagles picked sixth overall in 2000, played in Philadelphia until 2004 and made a Pro Bowl.

Jordan Matthews – 81
Notable Eagle to wear No. 81:
Terrell Owens -- does this need an explanation? Plus Jason Avant, and remember Henry "Gizmo" Williams?

Josh Huff – 11
Notable Eagle to wear No. 11:
Norm Van Brocklin, a nine-time Pro Bowler, led the Eagles to an NFL championship in 1960.

Jaylen Watkins – 37
Notable Eagle to wear No. 37:
Tom Woodeshick is the Eagles' ninth all-time leading rusher (3,563).

Taylor Hart – 97
Notable Eagle to wear No. 97:
Brodrick Bunkley, the Eagles' first-round pick at No. 14 overall in 2006, never panned out with the Birds and is now on the Saints.

Ed Reynolds – 30
Notable Eagle to wear No. 30:
Brian Mitchell, one of the better return guys in NFL history, played three of his final four seasons with the Eagles.
