The Eagles lost Nolan Carroll to a broken right ankle on Thursday night.

So they're bringing in a familiar face to take his roster spot.

The Eagles on Friday signed Jaylen Watkins off the Buffalo Bills' practice squad. Carroll was placed on the injured reserve list.

Watkins has been on the Bills' practice squad since the Eagles cut him at final cuts. The Eagles originally drafted Watkins in the fourth round in 2014 out of the University of Florida. In Buffalo, he was reunited with his brother, wide receiver Sammy Watkins.

Jaylen Watkins, who turned 23 on Friday, played in four games with the Eagles in 2014, recording three tackles and one pass defensed.

When Carroll exited Thursday's game, rookie second-round pick Eric Rowe filled in for him as the cornerback opposite Byron Maxwell. The Eagles also have E.J. Biggers and Denzel Rice on the roster.
