The Eagles have promoted wide receiver Jonathan Krause to the active roster.

In his place, the team cut linebacker Emmanuel Acho.

Krause, 23, had been on the Eagles' practice squad since Sept. 22. He previously spent time with the Browns and Patriots.

Krause was Jordan Matthews' teammate at Vanderbilt. The two are very close friends and spent the bye week this year working out together in Nashville.

During his senior year at Vanderbilt in 2013, Krause caught 42 balls for 714 yards and three touchdowns working on the other side of Matthews. He went undrafted before signing with the Browns.

Acho, 25, was brought back by the Eagles on Nov. 9 after Jordan Hicks was lost for the 2015 season.

Acho spent parts of the last two seasons with the Eagles before he was cut in late August with a thumb injury that needed surgery. Acho played in 14 games last season, starting two.
