Eagles agree to terms with safety Atogwe

And now it's official.

The Eagles on Wednesday agreed to terms with veteran safety O.J. Atogwe.

Atogwe gives the Eagles insurance behind and a mentor for their three young safeties, Nate Allen, Kurt Coleman and Jaiquawn Jarrett. Allen and Coleman will enter training camp as the starters, and Jaiquawn Jarrett, a second-round pick last year's draft, will (hopefully) make a push for playing time.

After playing his first six seasons with the Rams, the 30-year-old Atogwe spent last season with the Redskins, who had signed him to a five-year, 26 million deal. The Stanford product started eight games for the 'Skins and recorded 60 tackles and three interceptions.

The Eagles cleared a roster spot for Atogwe by releasing long snapper Matt Camilli.
